Configuring POP/IMAP

The two most widely used email fetch protocols, IMAP and POP, serve as bridges between email clients and email servers. They enable users to access, retrieve, and manage their emails, and they act as channels for users to retrieve their emails from their email server and bring them into their Zoho TeamInbox account.

Regardless of whether you choose POP or IMAP, both options allow users to access their emails from the email server in Zoho TeamInbox without the need for explicit email migration. Since different email clients support either POP or IMAP, it is important to select the option that is compatible with your email client. So, you can access all your emails seamlessly within Zoho TeamInbox.

Configuring IMAP

  1. Login to your Zoho TeamInbox account, click the Plus icon in the top-right corner of the left pane, and select Inbox.
  2. Select the inbox type and enter a name and description for your inbox.
  3. If it is a shared inbox, select the team under which you wish to create the inbox and click Next.
  4. Choose Email- POP/IMAP as the channel for your inbox.
  5. Select IMAP from the Select Protocol dropdown.
  6. Enter your source email address and incoming server details. These details will be present in the POP/IMAP settings of your email client.
  7. Enter your account credentials.
  8. Select the date when you want the emails to be fetched from your email client.
  9. Click Create inbox.

IMAP takes some time to fetch your emails from your email client to Zoho TeamInbox.

Configuring POP

  1. In Zoho TeamInbox, click the Plus icon in the left pane and select Inbox.
  2. Select the inbox type, enter a name and description for your inbox, and then click Next.

  6. Enter your account credentials.
  7. Set up the fetch frequency with your service provider, and your email copies will be received here as per the frequency you have set.
  8. You can also choose to delete emails from the POP server after receiving them, then click Create inbox.
