Zoho Creator Terms of Use

ZOHO CREATOR, A SERVICE FOR CREATING AND ACCESSING ONLINE DATABASE APPLICATIONS, IS PROVIDED TO YOU OR THE ENTITY THAT YOU REPRESENT (HEREINAFTER "YOU" OR "YOUR") BY THE APPLICABLE ZOHO ENTITY LISTED HERE (HEREINAFTER "ZOHO"), ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS (HEREINAFTER “TERMS”) IN ADDITION TO ZOHO GENERAL TERMS OF SERVICE. USE OF ZOHO CREATOR SIGNIFIES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND GENERAL TERMS OF SERVICE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS, DO NOT PROCEED OR USE ZOHO CREATOR IN ANY MANNER.

The Service

  • Zoho Creator is a Service that lets you develop and access online database applications. Zoho Creator enables you to create applications by using drag and drop fields, by importing spread sheets, by importing data from Microsoft Access database, or by using application templates. In addition, you may also use Deluge Script, Zoho Creator's proprietary scripting language, for creating and adding business logic to applications. The applications have three components: forms, views and reports.

  • Zoho Creator allows you to share private applications or components with other users, make applications or components public, post the applications on Zoho Marketplace and install applications from Zoho Marketplace into your Zoho Creator account. Additional Terms apply to use of Zoho Marketplace. By posting applications on Zoho Marketplace or installing applications from Zoho Marketplace into your Zoho Creator account, you will be deemed to have accepted Zoho Marketplace Terms of Use.

Accessing Zoho Creator

Zoho Creator is a part of Zoho's suite of online collaboration and business productivity applications (hereinafter "Zoho Services"). You will be able to access Zoho Creator by using your common account for all Zoho Services (hereinafter "Zoho Account"). You may also access your applications through the application programming interface provided by Zoho ("API").

Restrictions on Use

By using Zoho Creator, you agree that,

  • Applications that you create using Zoho Creator may be sold or offered as business solutions only through Zoho Marketplace.

  • You are not permitted to create applications for multiple organizations.

  • Only customers, and not the employees of your organization, can be added to the Customer Portal.

Sharing Your Applications

  • You may keep an application private or make it public. You may also keep the application partially private by keeping some of the components of the application as private and the rest of the components as public. Private applications and Private components may be shared to persons invited by you ("Shared Users"). The Shared Users will be able to access the private applications and Private components only by signing in to their Zoho Accounts. If you invite anyone who does not have a Zoho Account to access private applications and private components, such persons will be able to access the private applications only by creating a Zoho Account. Public applications and public components may be accessed by anyone without signing in to a Zoho Account.

  • You may assign 'developer' privileges to persons invited by you ("Developer"). Developers may create applications on your behalf. Developers will also have the privileges of modifying, sharing and making public the applications created by Developers for you and for the applications for which developer privileges have been assigned by you.

  • Shared Users and the Developer will have all the privileges assigned by you until you revoke such access privileges. You must make sure that you revoke access privileges if the purpose for which the access privilege has been granted is fulfilled.

  • Public applications may be crawled and indexed by search engines. You must make sure that you do not accidentally make any application containing confidential information public.

Usage Limits

Zoho may prescribe usage limits, including number of applications, Shared Users, the size of file attachments and number of records. You understand that Zoho may restrict an activity if you reach the usage limit corresponding to such activity. Zoho may also prescribe restrictions on usage through the API.

Zoho owns all rights, title, and interest, including all intellectual property rights in the components, and all related technology provided by Zoho Creator (collectively, the “Zoho Materials”). Except for the limited use right expressly granted to you under the Terms, Zoho does not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Zoho Materials. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights in the applications developed by you, subject to Zoho’s rights in any underlying Zoho Materials.

Security

  • You understand that Zoho Creator is only a platform for creating database applications and that you are entirely responsible for the applications developed by you. You specifically understand that security vulnerabilities may result from business logic and implementation errors in the application.

  • If an application has been developed by someone on your behalf or if you install an application from Zoho Marketplace, you must ensure that the application is adequately secure.

  • If you are subject to the General Security Policy for Health Information Systems (PGSSI-S), you shall ensure that your use of Zoho Creator complies with PGSSI-S. You can request the HDS Addendum from Zoho by completing this form. Once we receive your request, we'll forward the HDS Addendum to you for your signature.

  • You shall not circumvent the user authentication and authorization mechanism provided by Zoho Creator by developing your own user authentication and authorization mechanisms to public applications and public components.
