Life at Zoho
Describe your current role in the organization.
My current role is Administrative Assistant at the Pleasanton office. I provide support to various employees and departments for administrative needs at Zoho on a daily basis. In addition, I share the responsibility of handling unexpected issues that come up as needed.
What role does Zoho's company culture play in your identity and the work that you do?
The relaxed culture is huge for me! There is a trust that you will take care of your responsibilities and lend a hand to another if needed. If a mistake is made, don't ruminate over it. Learn from it and move on. Communication is a big part of that too.
At Work
Your most embarrassing blunder?
Forgetting a co-worker's name!
Tell us about a time you overcame a challenge you didn't think was possible.
A challenge for me was working in an open-concept environment. I was used to working in the privacy of my own office for almost 15 years prior to Zoho. I had to adjust to the idea of limited privacy and distractions with the office's open-concept, but I adjusted.
Is there a project or an accomplishment at Zoho you're proud of?
In general, assisting in maintaining organization within the Pleasanton office.
Getting Personal
What are some of your favorite activities outside work?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, eating the meals made by my husband, going to the beach, hanging out with our dog and our two 'grand dogs' (My children have dogs, not children yet, LOL!) and watching a good mini-series or movie, to name a few.
What are the books/podcasts/YouTube channels that you recommend?
Recently, I enjoyed reading The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave (which takes place near my hometown of San Francisco) and Live Wire by Kelly Ripa.
As for podcasts, we are Disney fans so podcasts related to that are enjoyable.
When it comes to YouTube, America's Funniest Videos (AFV) always guarantees a laugh.
Words of Wisdom
Maintain a healthy work-life balance. In addition, communication in both these areas is a major part of successful relationships—personal and professional.
