Describe your current role
in the organization.
I’ve been with Zoho for more than a decade. For over seven years, I had the opportunity to implement and deploy ManageEngine globally, which exposed me to diverse business and cultural environments. Presently, my primary focus lies on Operations and People Development within Zoho Concierge and Zoho Jumpstart.
What role does Zoho’s company culture play in your identity and the work that you do?
Working with Zoho has been a transformative journey, both personally and professionally. From a fresher to becoming a person heading two teams, Zoho has provided me with plentiful opportunities and enriching experiences.
The company’s approach to valuing each employee as an individual, with deep respect for their feelings and personal journeys, has been a foundation for me in building a compassionate workplace for my own teams.
My approach to team dynamics has evolved. I am now more friendly, approachable, and inclusive, turning even simple activities into team-building opportunities. This inclusive approach has positively impacted our team’s dynamics and productivity.
I aim to provide my colleagues with the space and opportunity Zoho provided me.
What were the highest and lowest points of your journey with Zoho?
The peak of my journey was when global customers expressed great satisfaction with the approach and outcomes of my onsite visits. Exposure to diverse businesses and cultural backgrounds through extensive travel, even to remote places across the globe are also high points. Now, as a father of two girls, I am happy guiding and coaching around 25 young individuals on my team, which is also a continuous achievement.
I’ve never experienced a moment of feeling down or low, truly. Zoho has consistently treated me with kindness.
Your most embarrassing blunder?
During a customer visit, I was engaged in a debate with a large audience about a well-known bug in the product, believing it had been addressed in the latest patch release. Following a serious discussion, I connected to a projector to perform the task only to discover that the issue remained unresolved. The entire audience burst into laughter. Self advice: never commit when you’re not 100% sure.
What are your hobbies or favorite activities outside of work?
I find immense pleasure in connecting with nature in its truest form outside of work. Solo hiking, surfing, off-roading with my old dependable Mahindra Thar, and enjoying breakfast drives on my Classic Chrome 500 are my favorites. Additionally, I play badminton and maintain a regular workout routine to stay active. I believe rejuvenation is essential for both the body and the soul!
