What is Leegality?
Leegality is a digital stamping, e-signing, and document workflow platform. It offers digital stamp papers from over 25 states of India, enabling businesses to stamp and sign documents digitally.
What is a digital stamp paper?
The Indian government levies stamp duty, a form of tax, on certain agreements (e.g., sale deed). You gain access to a stamp paper when you pay the stamp duty. You must affix the relevant stamp paper to your contract document to be legally valid and admissible in court. Today, you can procure these stamp papers online. Software like Leegality can procure stamp papers and digitize them for you in a legally-compliant manner.
Here’s how the integration works
1
Connecting Leegality and Zoho Contracts accounts
The first step to enable this integration is to create your Leegality account if you do not yet have one. You can connect your Leegality and Zoho Contracts accounts from the Admin module in Zoho Contracts.
2
Setting up the sign paper in Contract types
A Contract Type in Zoho Contracts is a mold that defines the primary attributes of a contract. Apart from defining the contract template, category, intent, and approval workflow, the contract type also specifies the sign paper. You can choose between “White paper” or “Stamp paper” as your sign paper for a contract type. When you choose the latter, you can get your contracts signed on stamp papers.
3
Choosing the stamp paper series during signature
Once contract negotiation is complete, you can send your contract document for signature. Here, you can add multiple representatives and set a signing order for them. In the same panel, you can choose the stamp paper required for signing the particular contract.
4
Signing via Leegality
When you send a contract for signature that has stamp paper as the sign paper, it is sent via Leegality. The signatories can sign the document using their Aadhaar details. Once signed, the signers will receive a copy of the signed document, along with a comprehensive signature audit trail attached in an email. You can also find a copy of the signed contract document on Zoho Contracts. Similarly, all other applicable signatures such as the signature of amendment, renewal, and extension letters will also happen via Leegality.
