Built on the principles of privacy
We don't monetize your data
With Zoho Cliq, there are no ads. There's no space for "ad targeting" or "data profiling." We don't use your messages, calls, or files for anything other than helping you communicate more effectively.
Your data is yours. We just help you communicate.
Your data stays private—even from us
Our systems are built to protect the confidentiality of your conversations. Even Zoho employees cannot view your data unless you explicitly authorize access for support purposes.
Our level of privacy is more than a technical choice; it's a trust commitment.
Global data hosting options
Zoho Cliq adheres to international privacy standards, including GDPR and CCPA. We host your data in Zoho-owned data centers located in regions of your choosing, giving you more control over residency and regulatory requirements.
Your data. Your region. Your rules.
Communication that stays confidential
Protection through encryption
There are no toggles to turn on, and no fine print to worry about. We make encryption the default. It's built into how Zoho Cliq works, from the moment you start typing to the moment your message is delivered.
Privacy doesn't need to be requested. It's already there.
Controlled access, secure data
Just because data exists in your systems doesn't mean everyone should see it, even within your own organization. With Zoho Cliq's granular access controls, admins can define rules based on roles, departments, or responsibilities. Whether it's restricting sensitive conversations to leadership or limiting file visibility to project stakeholders, Zoho Cliq helps you keep internal information internal.
Because privacy isn't just about keeping outsiders out. It's about making sure the right people are let in.
Privacy built for everyone, at every level
Whether you're a casual user, an admin overseeing hundreds of accounts, or a developer building integrations, Zoho Cliq ensures privacy is baked into your experience—not just sprinkled on top at the end. We've made it easy for every single Zoho Cliq user to understand, control, and protect their data at every step.
Contextual chat history settings
Not every conversation needs to live forever, and that's okay. Zoho Cliq gives admins the ability to enable or disable message history for all users, based on what's appropriate for their organization
This setting can be applied globally, so when history is turned off, users can have conversations that aren’t saved once the chat window is closed. It’s particularly useful for guest chats that involve sensitive credentials or short-lived internal conversations that don’t need to be retained.
For conversations that end when the window closes.
Access control for admins
Admins have powerful tools to shape how data is handled across the organization - from managing who can access what, to setting retention rules, including whether certain chats should be saved at all. They can define organization-wide policies, assign permissions, and monitor consent-driven access across all internal tools.
Compliance should not come at the cost of collaboration.
Extension review for developers
We review every extension submitted to Zoho Marketplace to make sure it meets our strict privacy guidelines. That means no hidden data grabs, no backdoor sharing, and no misuse of customer information.
Whether you're building a tool or using one, transparency is the baseline.
No fine print, just full control for everyone else
Privacy in Zoho Cliq isn't something buried in documentation or settings. It's visible, adjustable, and always working in your favor. Because no matter your role, you deserve to know where your data is and who can touch it.
Because no matter your role, you deserve to know where your data is and who can touch it.
Consent for integrations
When you connect third-party extensions or internal tools, you stay in control. You will always see what data each integration requests, and you can grant or revoke access anytime.
We believe integrations should expand functionality, not expose data.
