2024 has been a great journey, filled with innovation, learning, and growth for us. This year, we focused on enhancing your work experience with Trident, our native desktop application, for your communication, productivity, and business needs. We've rolled out features that make a difference in how you use the app every day—all driven by your invaluable suggestions and feedback.
This is indeed why Trident is gaining popularity among Zoho One and Zoho Workplace bundle users, with the highest number of sign-ups coming from them. Let’s take a look at the features that have made all of this possible.
Plan ahead with smart mailbox management.
The holiday season is upon us, and it can be a busy and demanding period for many. Planning ahead can make all the difference in staying stress-free during this busy time.
By creating email filters, you can ensure your inbox remains organized before you step away. You can set up email filters tailored to a specific date range, allowing you to sort and prioritize important emails automatically. Critical emails can be flagged or moved to a dedicated folder, where they'll be easy to find when you return.
You can also mark your out-of-office status and set up personalized automated replies to let senders know you’re unavailable. The best part? This feature works for all of your associated email accounts directly within Trident.
Even after all of your planning, sometimes returning to an overflowing inbox is inevitable and can feel overwhelming. That’s when you can scrub your inbox—bulk archive or delete emails from specific senders in one step. This way, you can do away with the mailbox clutter and only focus on what matters.
Tackle routine tasks with ease.
For emails you send regularly, you can save time by avoiding the effort of starting from scratch each time. With email templates, you can create reusable drafts for common scenarios—whether it’s sending out follow-up emails, client updates, or holiday greetings.
Additionally, you can create multiple email signatures, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your email.
Handle important emails.
Some of your email recipients may be traveling during this time, making it harder to confirm if they've seen your email. Requesting read receipts can help ensure your email is seen and read.
You can also set an outbox delay to create a small pause after clicking send. This feature gives you a window to catch and correct any mistakes before the email leaves your outbox.
For added security, when sending emails with sensitive information, you can apply SecurePass. This secures your email with a one-time passcode and prevents recipients from copying, forwarding, downloading, and printing the contents of the email.
Enhance collaboration with video meetings.
Workplace communication goes beyond just email. Video meetings in Trident make it easy to connect with your team wherever they're working from. Whether it's to finish tasks before the holidays arrive or to catch up after a break, video calls keep everyone in sync. For clearer discussions, you can use annotation tools while sharing your screen, making meetings more interactive. And if someone can’t attend, recording the meeting allows them to catch up at their convenience.
Unlock the key to peak productivity.
An interesting statistic shows that 85% of people use conversion tools to schedule meetings across different time zones, and 78% rely on them to avoid missing meetings. With Trident, you can skip the hassle altogether.
The Calendar module lets you view multiple time zones side by side, so you can easily add your colleagues’ time zones alongside your own. The scheduled time aligns automatically, removing the guesswork and the need for third-party converters. And with Sticky Notifications, meeting reminders stay on your desktop until you notice and take action, ensuring that you stay on track even when you're working in another app.
When you receive event invitations in your email, ICS parsing lets you instantly block your calendar by importing the event details with a single click. By integrating with online conference platforms like Zoho Meeting, MS Teams, and Zoom, it simplifies scheduling meetings by automatically generating links and embedding them in invites.
Various Zoho app calendars, like Zoho CRM, are also integrated into the unified calendar view. This helps you stay on top of your customer tasks, calls, and meetings, and easily look up contacts' and leads' information without having to visit the Zoho CRM web app each time.
You can also track the progress of both personal and group tasks visually with the help of Board View (also known as Kanban View) to identify bottlenecks and over-commitments.
Optimize your business workflows.
When you're focused on high-priority work, but your day-to-day activities—such as downloading a file, transferring backups to cloud storage, creating your to-do list, and other tasks—demand your attention, it can slow you down.
So, we wanted to find a way to accomplish these tasks much faster, cutting down on multiple clicks, navigation, and waiting times in Trident. Enter Smart Flow—our state-of-the-art feature that makes sharing data a breeze. All you have to do is drag the file from the source and drop it at its destination.
Here are a couple of your daily activities that you can now optimize with Smart Flow:
Download email attachments and files in the WorkDrive widget to your Mac.
Add files from the WorkDrive widget and Smart Mail as email attachments.
Share files from the WorkDrive widget to your Cliq chats.
Permit your teammates to view your WorkDrive files.
What's more, your workplace genie, the Smart Assistant, is powered by natural language processing (NLP). So, you can ask the Smart Assistant to create events and tasks just like how you would chat with a friend.
There's even more exciting updates in store.
As 2024 comes to a close, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for trusting us to support your communication, productivity, and business goals. We're thrilled to announce that we're working to add the following features (and more) to Trident over the course of 2025.
Generating email content with ZIA
Adding POP/IMAP accounts
Importing .pst format email files
Viewing .eml format emails
Scheduling chat messages
Inviting guest users to chat
