As 2024 winds down, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the updates and improvements we (and you!) brought to Zoho Mail. This year wasn’t just about adding features—it was about solving real problems, improving security, and helping teams work more efficiently. In this blog post, we'll take a look at the key updates that made their mark this year.
Snapshots of key updates in Zoho Mail
From new ways to manage your inbox to integrations that make work easier, here’s a look back at what made 2024 an important year for Zoho Mail users.
1. Managing tasks and project updates with Zoho Projects preview
Switching between apps to stay updated can be distracting, especially when you're on a clock. That’s why Zoho Mail now empowers you to stay on top of your projects directly from your inbox.
This means that project managers can open project notifications right from Zoho Mail with a single click—saving valuable time. It’s a simple way to stay up to date on projects without leaving their inbox.
2. Staying connected and informed with Zoho Connect preview
Staying connected with your team or other members of your organization shouldn’t mean jumping from one app to another for minor engagements. With Zoho Connect's preview in Zoho Mail, you can interact with your company’s intranet or forums right from your inbox.
Business owners and professionals can now engage in conversations and discussions with just a click. They can like, react, and comment on posts in company forumsfrom the email preview. This way, you can keep the conversation going and build transparency at your workplace.
3. Tracking leads and adding details to CRM from emails
When deals need to be closed and leads need to be tracked, time is of the essence. Sales professionals know the drill. Most of the correspondence happens over emails. Manually copying the details and entering them into your CRM is, frankly, tedious.
With the Add to CRM option in Zoho Mail, you can save email details to your CRM quickly while previewing your email. This means sales teams can now create a contact, a lead, or a deal right from their mailbox in just a click. It’s a small change that makes a big difference—leaving you more time for closing deals.
4. Building trust and enhancing security with BIMI and Blue Tick
We tend to skip opening emails we receive from unverified sources. Businesses sending out important emails cannot afford this. Their customers may mark these emails as spam. Worse, they may open emails posing as the real deal. Email security has never been more critical, and this year Zoho Mail raised the bar.
Zoho Mail adds an extra layer of security with Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI), an email authentication feature. With BIMI, your brand's logo is displayed next to the emails in your customers' inbox. This distinctly separates your emails from other spoof emails.
For businesses and institutions, this means that they can reassure customers that the emails they receive are authentic. Phishing attempts are now easier to spot, and trust is easier to build. Here's how BIMI helps establish authenticity.
To strengthen credibility even further, Zoho Mail now includes a blue tick next to the sender’s email address for email sent from BIMI-verified domains.
5. Snoozing multiple emails for better focus
Managing email can sometimes feel overwhelming. While some messages are urgent, others are important but can’t be addressed immediately. This year, Zoho Mail gave users the control they needed.
Teams and individuals can reschedule entire email threads to reappear when they're ready to address them. For instance, a marketing team preparing for a product launch can focus on pressing tasks while ensuring nothing important slips through the cracks.
6. Slashing time and effort with Slash Commands
Your inbox can do more than just send emails—it can become a smart assistant, saving you time by quickly fetching data and performing actions.
Instead of switching between apps or tabs, you can now invoke any application directly from Mail Assistant using simple commands. Whether you're fetching information or performing actions across different apps, all it takes is typing a slash command that starts with a (/). Invoke any application using an API. The best part? It works for both Zoho and non-Zoho apps using an API.
7. Broadcasting announcements and boosting transparency
Broadcasting important updates just became easier with the new Announcements feature in the Admin Console. Now, you can post brief, impactful messages at the top of the application. Whether it's an important HR update or a policy, all users in your organization can stay on the same page.
Active announcements are displayed prominently, while announcements on hold or those that have expired can be easily managed and reviewed. This simple yet powerful tool helps you keep your team in the loop.
From sharing system updates to reminding employees about important deadlines, this feature ensures that critical information reaches everyone without sending another email. HR teams, for instance, use announcements to notify employees about policy updates and events—quick, clear, and impossible to miss.
