Zoho CRM gets SSO

Over this past weekend, the Zoho team did several upgrades to the CRM infrastructure. One of the major customers benefits for this is that now Zoho CRM customers can enjoy Single Sign On (SSO) across all of the Zoho services.

In the past, Zoho CRM customers needed one set of username/password for using the CRM service, and another for using the other Zoho services. This was a result of Zoho adding so many services so quickly (we're around the 20 mark right now) and was not trivial to fix. But now it is done. It took a lot of effort from everyone in the CRM team and it is finally done - congrats!

So now CRM customers can more easly take advantage of other related products, for example, Zoho Projects, Zoho Invoice and Zoho Meeting in a much simpler way to use. And perhaps more important, this sets the stage for us doing much tighter integration across all of our services - stay tuned, more on that later!

For those of you interested in learning more, we're hosting a short call today at 10 am PST to discuss this and answer any questions you may have. Customers, media and bloggers are welcome to attend. Here's the dial-in info:

  1. It would make a lot of sense to be able to sync tasks between zoho crm and zoho projects. It would help our team immensely to login and see one to-do list that covers all areas.Do you have any timeframe on when this might be released?

  3. Really need to improve calendar information in CRM and allow more flexibility between "contacts" and "activities- events/tasks"- It seems fundamental for me to be able to go to contacts, look up all contacts in a specific zip code. Then, set one event for all those contacts in the same zip code. Right now, if we want to set an event (meeting) for all 150 contacts in the 44555 zip code, we have to do it one at a time. This is basic, and a MUST

  5. Zoho CRM and Zoho Invoice need to be integrated. We have very solid footing in a vertical market that needs this integration (and a timesheet function too.) Any chance of this in the near future?

  7. CKLuis -That's a good point. But what we've found is that people treat project tasks and crm tasks differently. That is - a project is an entity with a define start/end timeframe. A CRM task different, it's part of something more fluid. I guess you could consider 'selling' a new customer like a new project, but seems people keep that fairly separate. But I see your point regarding integrating them. You'll see more integration in the coming weeks/months.Thanks!Rodrigo

  9. Eric -Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, that's one of the things we're considering. But before that, you'll see some other types of integration scenarios which a lot of users have requested, such as Mail and CRM. Stay tuned!Rodrigo

  11. "this sets the stage for us doing much tighter integration across all of our services"Does this mean the awesome Zoho Calendar will be integrated with Zoho CRM? The default CRM calendar is good, but I'd love to see the CRM events and appointments -- which are linked to CRM clients -- show up on the better Zoho Calendar; or bring the Calendar functionality to the default CRM calendar. I naively thought the SSO project might incorporate this, but it obviously wasn't part of the plan. And conversely, just to make it interesting, I think the tasks/activities from within CRM is much more user friendly than the stand-alone Zoho Tasks/to-do product.Might this be part of the "tighter integration"?

  13. Bob -You bring up a good point. That's not something you can do right now, but that's in the plans for the short term. I'm sure you'll like it.Rodrigo
