It's that exciting time of the year again when Apple unveils stunning capabilities and devices to all of its users worldwide. At Zoho, we’ve always been at the forefront of adopting the latest Apple technologies in our mobile apps as soon as they’re announced. This helps our users run their businesses on their devices much easier.
Apple made a significant announcement by launching iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 10. We're thrilled to talk about our various Zoho apps that have worked tirelessly to incorporate and harness the power of these new technologies. Now, what are you waiting for? Read on to discover our latest, high-quality updates.
The power to take action with a few taps
One of the exciting additions that users can expect is the inclusion of interactive widgets. These widgets will provide a more dynamic and personalized experience by allowing users to interact with their favorite apps directly from their home screens. Apps like Zoho Notebook, Zoho Sign, Zoho Expense, and Zoho OneAuth go hand-in-hand with this feature—allowing you to complete your to-dos, send reminders to signers, and access OTPs from the widgets.
Get your work done from Spotlight
You can now access specific functionalities within our apps directly from the home screen using app shortcuts in Spotlight Search. Perform super-quick actions like restricting sign-in, viewing your OTP codes, smart sign-in using OneAuth, and accessing frequently used modules instantly without navigating through the entire Zoho One app. While searching for the apps, you can create invoices, log timesheets, or start a timer directly from the Top Hit section in Zoho Books, Zoho Invoice, and Zoho Billing.
Share and collaborate with SharePlay
With SharePlay, you can now enjoy shared experiences with your friends, family, or colleagues in real time. Bigin leverages SharePlay to create an immersive collaborative environment—enabling multiple users to brainstorm email content concurrently, edit messages, attach files, and add those finishing touches with ease. Notebook, on the other hand, enables users to share File Cards during FaceTime calls.
Create realistic 3D models
Object Capture is one of the liveliest features for our apps like Bigin and Zoho Inventory. These apps leverage augmented reality (AR) to offer you the option of creating 3D models of everything from products to construction floor plans, eliminating the need for outsourcing this work. View your products as though they were right in front of you. It's not just about visualizing; it's about experiencing!
Enhanced Photo Picker and Tooltips
Photo Picker and TipKit are two more compatible technologies that Zoho apps have embraced. Using the embedded Photo Picker feature, you can easily pick and change profile images in Zoho Directory, and OneAuth. Take a glance.
On the other hand, tooltips enhances your app experience by providing helpful tips and suggestions based on your usage patterns, especially when you're new to our apps. This feature is beautifully supported by apps like Zoho One, Zoho Doc Scanner, Zoho Directory, and more.
Add-ons
StandBy mode on iOS 17 gives a new full-screen experience for our apps. With Zoho Sign, users can send, sign, and track documents in StandBy mode. Get live and quick access to OTPs with the OneAuth authenticator and app insights from the Zoho One business suite app in StandBy mode. With Zoho Desk's Ticket Stat view, customer service agents can quickly view Open and Overdue tickets from the idle home screen.
The enhanced AutoFill feature lets you securely annotate documents and PDFs with the saved information from your contacts. This includes filling out any PDFs and documents in your File Cards in Notebook and annotating the scanned documents in Doc Scanner.
iPad and Apple Watch exclusives
Now, Lock Screen Widgets and Live Activities are supported for iPads as well, and they're more compatible with our apps like Zoho Books, Zoho Invoice, Zoho Desk, Zoho OneAuth and Bigin to add widgets and get your work done from your Lock Screen and Home Screen in a few taps.
We can’t end this article without talking about watchOS 10's Smart Stack feature. This means you can easily view all of the widgets you've added to your device in a scrollable stack—Notebook is compatible with this feature that allows you to view the pinned notes added from your device. Additionally, OneAuth has also been re-designed for watchOS 10 to give their users an easier way to access OTPs.
