Zoho CRM just got a couple new cool features: integrated IM and group chat. This, along with our CRM+Mail integration means that if you are a serious CRM user, you need not leave the same browser tab to accomplish all you need to do.

Instant Messaging in Zoho CRM works just like you’d expect, and if you already use other Zoho products, you’ll be familiar with it already. You can check if any of your contacts are online and instantly chat with them from the bar at the bottom of the screen. And of course that chat window stays with you as you navigate throughout your CRM system.
In addition to 1-on-1 instant messaging, we are also introducing Group Chat and Chat Topics for Zoho CRM. This means that you can setup different topics inside your organization – for example, a chat topic for the Western sales region. Or a topic for all the people involved in that key customer account. You can then invite multiple people to that chat topic, and they will all be able to collaborate in real-time without having to leave their CRM screen.One additional benefit of the group chat, is that chat users who were not online during a particular discussion can catch-up about the discussion when they log back in.
can someone tell me if you need to have mail ad on to activate chat? I cant figure out how to activate chat but also do not have mail ad on
I can't see any way to activate this Chat add-in onto our free version of Zoho CRM. Is this feature only for paying CRM accounts ? Or can somone please point me in the right direction (https://www.zoho.com/crm/help/... seems to suggest you need to turn it on under "profiles" section, which I don't have :-( )

How about integration/syncing with Google Calendar. That's where people really start to say "maybe later". I know you get lots of requests, but I'd think Google Calendar integration is more important than chat...

If so i would just click on the MSN ID of the account and chat with him using Zoho Chat. People would love this feature if it was there, imho.

@Andrew -Thanks! We do like to move fast. But, to be honest, we had been working on this for a bit longer ;) As much as we would like to, we just can't churn out every feature requested in such a short time. Because, well... we get a lot of features requested!Regarding the chat part, yeah, that is available right now inside the Zoho Chat main window(log into chat.zoho.com).
