Zoho Sets Up Base of Operations in the Netherlands to Promote Suite of Cloud-based Business Apps Across Europe
Redoubling their commitment to the European market, Zoho announces plans to expand their local presence, focusing on bringing more EU and UK businesses to the cloud.
Utrecht, Netherlands—April 23, 2018—Today, Zoho Corporation announced the opening of its first European office in Utrecht, Netherlands. Seeking to capitalize on growing market potential, Zoho is launching a new European business development initiative, which includes growing the local partner network, coordinating language-specific user education events, and cultivating deeper ties to the business community across the region.
"We see Europe and the UK as key markets with huge potential, especially for Zoho One, our unified bundle of over +40 business apps," said Sridhar Vembu, CEO, Zoho Corporation. "Businesses in these regions are realising the potential of the cloud and we would like to embark on this journey with them. We are here for the long haul."
"This new expansion into Europe will help us work closely with our local partners and serve customers as they make the switch to the cloud. The Netherlands was an obvious choice for us due to its proximity to the European and UK markets and its friendly attitude toward business," said Sridhar Iyengar, Head of European Business, Zoho Corporation.
With the new Utrecht office, private data centres in Ireland and the Netherlands, data handling policies that comply with GDPR regulations, a strong regional partner network, and localized versions of most of its products in 15 languages, Zoho is committed to fully supporting its European user base.
Data Security and GDPR
Zoho is committed to protecting data privacy. It has two data centres in Europe—one in the Netherlands and another in Ireland. Zoho handles all user data in accordance with GDPR regulations.
"Data privacy has been the cornerstone of our business since day one," said Iyengar. "We have never monetised our user's data and never will. We welcome the additional strength that GDPR provides and we will abide by the practices and policies outlined in the law."
Privately Held and Profitable
Zoho's philosophy has been to grow organically through customer acquisition. Since its founding in 1996, the company has been profitable and privately held, never taking external capital. This independent financial approach has allowed Zoho to pursue long-term goals instead of focusing on a quick exit.
"The bootstrapped model has helped us invest in technology experiments with a long term vision in mind. We constantly look out for ways and technologies that can help enrich our customers' lives while providing a great value proposition," said Iyengar.
