PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Helping people work online, Zoho today announced Zoho Wiki 2.0, the company's online portal for group collaboration and content sharing. With individual workspaces and fine-grained access controls, Zoho Wiki 2.0 takes an enterprise focus that promotes team collaboration within an organization and with clients, partners and other third parties.
"Zoho Wiki 2.0 represents an evolution from individual to business-focused wikis," said Hyther Nizam, director of product management at Zoho.
"To succeed, companies need to communicate freely and easily. They also need to communicate securely. Now, organizations can use Zoho Wiki 2.0 as an intranet or online knowledge base as well as a tool for intra- and inter-team collaboration. The Zoho Wiki 2.0 feature set gives users a lot of flexibility while maintaining enterprise-level security."
Inside Zoho Wiki 2.0
Zoho has optimized Zoho Wiki to build collaborative environments for effective knowledge sharing within an organization as well as with third parties. Use cases within an organization can include creating documentation sites, enterprise intranets, private or shared team portals, and searchable centralized information repositories. To support enterprise users, Zoho Wiki 2.0 includes the following features:
- Workspaces – Each team can have its own, independent workspace within an organization wiki. Each workspace has its own administrative and customization options. Workspace can function as a separate portal, complete with its own access controls ensuring fine-grained enterprise-level security.
- Fine-grained access controls – Zoho Wiki supports permissions at the wiki, workspace and page levels. Likewise, permissions can be granted for multiple groups, individuals, domains, public, and for users within an organization. Enterprise-level security can be further established by assigning separate permissions for edit, view, create and delete functions.
- Widgets – Zoho Wikis can be personalized and enhanced with a wide variety of widgets to create custom dashboards. Widgets conveniently aggregate content from sources such as YouTube, Google, Box.net and more, as well as other Zoho apps like Zoho Calendar, Zoho Creator and Zoho Chat.
- Full branding control – Organizations have complete control over their brands. Wikis can be tailored to retain the brand image by including customized logos, background image, layout and more. Users can also upload their own style sheet for deep customization.
- Notifications – Users can keep a 'Watch' on all the changes happening in their Wiki or Workspace or a particular page. They can keep abreast of the latest updates through instant RSS feeds or scheduled email notifications.
Zoho Mail users will now be able to seamlessly integrate Zoho Wiki into Zoho Business for improved collaboration and sharing. Employees can also share their documents across the organization.
