INNOVATE 2010 - SAN FRANCISCO - October 26, 2010 - Helping people work online, Zoho today announced that its online invoicing application, Zoho Invoice, now supports PayPal Business Payments on the PayPal X platform, the world's first truly open global payments platform. The move lets Zoho Invoice users conveniently invoice and receive payments from their customers while paying the lower transaction fees-$0.50 per payment-associated with PayPal's Business Payments pricing for payments funded by PayPal balance or eCheck.
Zoho is making the announcement at the PayPal X Innovate 2010 Conference being held October 26–27 at the Moscone West conference hall in San Francisco. As a silver sponsor of the event, Zoho will be exhibiting at the show in Booth S11. Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu will also be speaking at the show in a PayPal X Town Hall Meeting titled "Business Payments Pricing Panel" on Tuesday, October 26, at 1:00-1:45 p.m. in Room 2022.
"Zoho's work is a great example of how third-party developers can use PayPal X to create a new generation of payment options," said Damon Hougland, senior director of PayPal X. "Our PayPal Business Payments offers Zoho a fast, convenient and secure method for sending and receiving payments for a low-cost fee. We're excited to have them as an early adopter in our pilot."
Raju Vegesna, Zoho evangelist, said, "Zoho customers range from enterprise organizations to boutique SMBs, but regardless of size, all appreciate a reduction in the costs of doing business. By introducing a flat fee of 50 cents per transaction (for payments funded by PayPal balance or eCheck) between PayPal account holders, PayPal can ultimately save Zoho Invoice users a lot of money."
Among its many features, Zoho Invoice lets users accept online payments from their customers. Now, Zoho Invoice uses PayPal's new Adaptive Payments API. Like the rest of the PayPal community, Zoho Invoice users will continue to pay two to five percent of the invoice total when a customer makes a PayPal payment using a credit card.
Through PayPal Business Payments, developers have access to $.50 flat fee pricing for U.S. dollar transactions funded using a PayPal balance or eCheck only. The pilot is currently underway and open to developers who sign up on x.com. It will become generally available next year.
Part of the PayPal X platform, the Adaptive Payments API is a set of building blocks that gives developers the tools to create highly customized payment services. The API will change where and how people can make payments, how recipients get compensated, and more.
