Zoho Named "Cool Vendor" by Leading Analyst Firm
Vendors selected for "Cool Vendor" report are innovative, impactful and intriguing
PLEASANTON, Calif. - April 17, 2007 - Zoho, a leading provider of Web-based applications for collaborative business, has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the "Cool Vendors in Web 2.0, 2007" report authored by Gartner, Inc.'s David Mitchell Smith, David Gootzit, Gene Phifer, Ray Valdes, Nicholas Gall, and Hung LeHong. Office 2.0, a subset of Web 2.0, focuses on personal and group productivity services for business.
"We believe customer service is going to be the deciding factor in Office 2.0 success, so we listen and respond to customers as if our lives depend on it, because they do," said
Zoho evangelist Raju Vegesna
"Office 2.0 customers are asking for a comprehensive suite of high-quality services at an affordable price. That's what we're giving them. We work hard to earn our customers' respect and appreciation."
According to the report, many new and innovative technologies and services are being introduced on the Web. Organizations need to pay close attention to the consumer and Web-oriented worlds for a glimpse into the future of enterprise innovations.
The report went on to say, "Web 2.0 harnesses innovations from consumer markets and brings them to enterprises. Technologies associated with Web 2.0 (for example, Ajax) will have benefits by themselves, but the real power comes from those that leverage new social and business capabilities. Web communities can provide rich, new interactions among employees, business partners and customers. Web platforms and their architecture provide an adaptable technology model and potentially require significantly less-expensive infrastructure to support."
With Office 2.0, applications running on customers' desktops become services accessed via standard Web browsers, turning customer service into a key consideration in customer satisfaction and vendor success. With Office 2.0 services, new features can be added on a moment's notice. Bugs can be fixed soon after they are discovered. New services can be quickly introduced with little risk. Customer requests and feedback lie at the heart of Office 2.0's dynamic, constantly-evolving service model, and companies that embrace their customers will flourish.
In addition to the Gartner "Cool Vendor" evaluation, Zoho has been honored on several other awards lists, including PC World's "" and "The Web's Most Useful Sites and CRN's "Review: The Best Ajax-based Apps."
