import-export

While importing transactions, I encountered an error stating that IGST must be applied for interstate transactions. What should I do?

Scenario: Let’s say your business is registered in Tamil Nadu (TN) and you’re invoicing a customer who is located in Kerala(KL). In the import file, if you have mentioned intrastate taxes (GST), then you will not be able to import.

Now, in order to perform the import, check for the following:

  • Tax Name ( IGST tax details ), Tax Type ( Item Amount), and Place Of Supply are mentioned correctly. Learn more about the appropriate state codes that needs to be mentioned against the Place Of Supply.

  • If Branches are enabled in your organization, verify if the branch name is added in your file and the same is mapped against the branch field in Zoho Books while importing.
