The Challenge

Qntrl Orchestration is designed to execute business processes through a simple drag-and-drop interface that breaks down the stages of the process lifecycle by creating workflow cards that guide users through the next course of action to complete the task.

For instance, automating a workflow for supply chain management in an automobile manufacturing unit, begins with the production manager raising a request to the procurement team, in order to purchase a product component. This process takes place by creating a purchase request card in orchestration. As soon as the purchase manager picks up the card, he must update the card with the supplier's information to receive approval from the procurement head.

The supply chain as a function works with various legally impaneled suppliers/ vendors on a regular basis, but the challenge lies here "it is extremely time-consuming to manually enter the details of the desired vendor over and over in all the cards regards to purchase request.

The Solution

The process of supply chain management involves database, in this scenario it's vendor base. Using DataGrid "Qntrl has designed their interface with a section called Tables, which helped in quickly importing all the suppliers' data using DataGrid's extensive field types such as Vendor ID, organization name, phone number, email address in a tabular format.

Now that they have the database stored in the interface, they have created a Table lookup between the workflow cards and tables, through which the user can quickly fetch the supplier details just by typing the first letter of the supplier's organization name.

The Result & Plan for Future

As a result, users now experience a higher level of productivity, and save time they would normally spend retrieving information from diverse sources to update their job cards.

Besides that, DataGrid also manages all the entries made through the cards as exclusive Tables. The amount of data is considerable, yet DataGrid ensures seamless rendering since it's built on the canvas element and developed in a way to offer superior performance regardless of the volume of the data. In Addition, Using the transactional data, the team also quickly creates a dashboards to review the overall procurement activities by simply integrating the tabular data with a third-party reporting tool.
