Process
Zylker Distribution is a supply and distribution business that operates regionally. "Our primary warehouse gets regular product shipments from our manufacturer," explains Michael, Zylker's warehouse manager. "We supply paper products and stationery to our clients located across the state."
"Our clients are mostly wholesale and retail stores," Michael explains "When they place orders for supplies on our website, these orders get associated with their contact record in our CRM."
"Our team then loads up the fleet to get the shipment across to the delivery address," he adds.
Requirements
"Our CRM shows us the address of our clients but doesn't display their exact location on the map, so we have trouble identifying multiple clients located around the same area", Michael explains. "If we can visualize our customers on a map, it would be easier for us to plan a distribution route for our trucks, as well as other sales activities."
"For example, if we notice that three clients are located close to one another, and one of them places an order for their regular shipment from our warehouse, our sales team can contact the other two clients to check if they need supplies as well. And if they do, we can then tend to all the orders on the same trip, saving on time and fuel."
Zylker's requirement is a map view in their CRM that shows the geographical location of their contacts, based on their addresses.
Solution
Features in use
We configured a widget in Zylker's CRM account that seamlessly blends their client information with Google Maps data. All their team has to do is select a set of contacts and click on the Map View button. The widget then displays the selected clients as pins on the map.
Both the sales team and the fleet operators can access this map view. The sales team can use this view to follow up with existing clients located around a delivery-associated contact. The fleet operators can use this view to get the exact location of the orders that need to be delivered.
Result
With Zoho CRM's customer location widget, Zylker Distribution can now:
View the geographical distribution of a set of clients at the click of a button.
Carry out sales activities and orders based on client location and their proximity to one another.
Manage and optimize delivery operations by assessing the distribution of order clusters on the map.
