Creatio Sales (formerly Creatio CRM and bpm'online) is a SaaS CRM with a focus on business process management. Creatio Sales offers startups and small-to-medium businesses a versatile set of features to streamline their everyday sales and business processes.

Like its competitors, Creatio allows users to expand the scope of Creatio Sales beyond a traditional CRM. For an additional cost, you can purchase Creatio Marketing and Creatio Service and streamline your marketing and customer support as well. Some of the functions offered by these additional apps, such as marketing automation, mass email, and web-to-lead forms are already included with the standard versions of Zoho CRM. Creatio's lead management functionality gives you the basic tools to capture, qualify, and nurture leads. You can easily import leads from flat files, select multiple records and apply changes to all of them at once, create leads manually, and also track the stage transition history of lead records using Creatio Sales's History tab.

However, some vital features such as lead scoring and web-to-lead, contact, or case forms are hidden behind a paywall and require you to buy Creatio Marketing.

Creatio Sales allows you to integrate your existing telephony or PBX system to make and receive calls directly in your CRM. You can also integrate your existing email accounts with Creatio to send email templates and link them to objects in Creatio, like leads and contacts. Social media integrations let you chat with leads in Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Telegram.

Creatio Sales does not offer website live chat capabilities. Zoho CRM integrates with SalesIQ for website engagement and live chat.

Social media management is also not native. Zoho CRM allows you to respond to social posts, monitor customer social activity, connect multiple social accounts, and analyze social media reports natively in the app.

There are no real-time notifications when a customer opens an email or responds to a live chat in Creatio Sales.

Creatio uses processes to automate commonly used sales routines such as sending email alerts, assigning tasks, and updating fields when certain requirements are met. However, organizing all your processes can quickly become complicated. This is because all workflow rules, schedules, actions, assignment rules, case escalation rules, and customer segmentation rules are all handled in the same feature, which can cause problems, especially if you have multiple departments in your CRM and multiple sales processes in your organization.

Creatio Studio Free lets you design business processes with an easy-to-use visual builder which leverages the BPMN 2.0 standard. You can collaborate and build business processes with your team, invite them to comment, and even export process management diagrams to other business process management systems. You can use templates from a ready-made library offered by Creatio or create your own from scratch.

Creatio offers a low-code UI editor which can be used across all their apps for sales, service, and marketing. This allows users to customize the look of forms, dashboards, and menus according to their needs: show or hide fields on pages, make them editable or greyed-out, mandatory or optional, and change the options available in the dropdown lists dynamically based on user inputs in other fields. The system designer allows you to add new objects, tabs, columns, and sections to your modules. You can also adjust the business logic of any section or page.

Creatio offers an array of dashboard components such as line, bar, doughnut, area, and pipeline charts, among many others. You can create new dashboard panels and add components to make them your own. However, some important components, such as anomaly detectors, cohorts and quadrants, are missing from Creatio. The report builder is lacking in many aspects: it does not offer a report builder wizard and there is no straightforward way to view or edit reports on the fly without converting them into Excel sheets. There is also no option to send automated reports to your mailbox.

Creatio provides predictive data analysis tools to estimate the likelihood of specific events based on large volumes of historic and current data. Creatio includes the following types of machine learning features: lookup value prediction, numeric prediction, predictive scoring, recommendation, and similar text search. You can use these features to predict lead budgets, which products or services you should recommend to a customer, and the likelihood of successfully closing a deal. Keep in mind that these features are part of the Studio Enterprise platform which costs an additional $25/user/month.

A significant missing feature is a dedicated conversational sales assistant, similar to Zia, which you can talk to or text and ask questions.

Creatio Sales does not offer any marketing automation features out of the box. Key marketing automation features such as the ability to nurture leads through email campaigns, website visitor tracking, survey campaigns, and email and survey analytics are only available if you purchase Creatio Marketing which starts at $1,042/user/year.

Another useful feature which is free in Zoho CRM is the Google Adwords integration, which allows you to combine sales data with Google Ads spending so you can figure out which keywords bring in the most qualified leads. This integration is not available in Creatio Sales.

Creatio Sales offers a variety of team collaboration features like instant messaging and a live feed to share ideas and important updates. You can organize your work with tasks and meetings in your calendar in Creatio Sales and create personal or group tasks linked to contacts, opportunities, or documents. Creatio also lets you synchronize your tasks and calendar with Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange.

Creatio Sales includes basic project management capabilities which lets you set project deadlines, manage costs, manage planned and actual workloads, and calculate the time and cost required to complete your projects.

The Creatio Marketplace contains integrations for Zoom Meeting, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger chat.

The lack of sales gamification features was disappointing. Unlike Gamescope in Zoho CRM, Creatio lacks the built-in functionality to set KPIs and targets, create games between teams or individual reps, and broadcast dashboards and games on the sales floor.

I did some serious digging into Zoho and with each new layer I pulled back I became more and more excited.
