What is a Qualified Electronic Signature, or QES?
- QES is an advanced electronic signature based on a qualified digital certificate.
- A qualified digital certificate can only be issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) with a Qualified Signature Creation Device (QSCD).
- This process involves face-to-face identity verification of the signatory.
- QES is the only signature type in the European Union that's deemed legally identical to wet signatures.
You can now use QES to sign your documents with Zoho Sign. We recommend you read the standard document shared by eIDAS to learn more.
